How to get here


By road: If using a Sat Nav, enter the postcode IP5 3RF, and follow the signs for Reception.

By train: A regular train service runs from London Liverpool Street to Ipswich Station, taking approximately one hour. From the Midlands and the North, there are connecting trains to Ipswich from Peterborough (via Ely or Cambridge).

From the train station: A shuttle bus for business commuters operates from Stand C on the Ipswich station forecourt, direct to Adastral Park, at peak times. Taxi fares from Ipswich Railway Station cost around £15 each way and the 66 bus costs around £5.00 return.

By air: The nearest major airport to Adastral Park is Stansted Airport, which is located just over an hour drive from the Park.

Craig Doyle: BT Sport presenter and Innovation 2017 stage host

Craig Doyle is a trained broadcast journalist and TV presenter. Craig is one of BT Sport’s most popular presenters and is the lead host of Premiership Rugby, European Rugby, and Moto GP coverage.

He started his career as a staff reporter and producer with BBC Local Radio, working his way up to become a News and Sport presenter on BBC Radio Suffolk. In 2013, Craig joined the newly launched BT Sport as their lead rugby presenter, covering the Premiership, European Champions Cup, as well as presenting a weekly magazine show.

Craig has also been one of the main anchors for ITV’s previous two Rugby World Cup Finals, as well as continuing to present their Isle of Man TT coverage. He has presented numerous leading TV shows for the BBC including Tomorrow’s World and The Holiday Programme, before moving onto BBC Sport to become the main anchor for Grandstand, The Athens Olympics, Six Nations Rugby, and Wimbledon.

David Rowan: Editor-at-large, WIRED magazine UK

David Rowan is Editor-at-large and founding Editor-in-chief of WIRED’s UK edition. He has taken 125 flights in the past year to investigate the companies and entrepreneurs changing our world, recently spending time with the founders of WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Google, Spotify, Xiaomi, Nest, Twitter and countless other disruptive startups from Tel Aviv to Shenzhen.

At WIRED, he has extended the brand into conferences, apps, and a consulting business. He is co-founder of FlowJourneys.com, taking amazing people for weekend adventures in the world’s most extraordinary locations. And he is still searching for the future.

Steve Jarrett: Head, Connectivity Programs, Europe, Facebook

Steve Jarrett is Head of Connectivity Programs, Europe at Facebook. Steve is responsible for managing the infrastructure programs to help make the world more open and connected that Facebook launches with our mobile operator partners in Europe and the Middle East.

Steve has been innovating and leading teams in mobile and social since 1993, including working on the early iPod at Apple, inventing the first Internet-based mobile app store, conceiving of one of the earliest mobile photo sharing services at Kodak Gallery / Ofoto and product managing one of the first mobile browsers at General Magic.

Immediately before joining Facebook, Steve was Founder and CEO of MePlease, a pioneer in Social Loyalty. In 2012 Steve was named one of the 100 CEOs most likely to build a $150mm+ business and have a major impact on the UK economy.

Steve graduated from Stanford University. He is an avid skier and photographer. He lives in London with his wife Sarah and three children.

Jean-Marc Frangos: Managing Director, Products & Services Research and Open Innovation, BT

Jean-Marc Frangos

Jean-Marc Frangos is responsible for managing the research programmes to prepare BT’s future offering aimed at the Consumer and Business markets, including areas such as TV over IP, Virtual Reality, IoT and Cloud Technologies. He is also responsible for innovation partnerships with venture capitalists, start-ups and industry peers in the United States, Asia, and Europe.

Based in Silicon Valley, Jean-Marc identifies disruptive technologies and innovative service opportunities, and establishes the technical and commercial links with BT’s research and operational divisions. He runs the internal idea management process which identifies the best innovation candidates from 100,000+ BT employees worldwide. His team also designed and runs BT Infinity Labs, a novel incubator concept based in Shoreditch, London, to foster collaboration with the UK entrepreneur community.

Dr. Nicola Millard: Head of Customer Insight & Futures, BT

Nicola Millard

Dr. Nicola Millard heads up Customer Insight & Futures in BT's Global Services Innovation Team.  Despite working for a technology company, Nicola isn't a technologist and combines psychology with futurology to try and anticipate what might be lying around the corner for both customers and organisations (sadly, her crystal ball is broken).
 
Nicola got her PhD from Lancaster University in 2005 on motivational technologies in contact centres, published her first book in 2009 and now spends most of her time doing research, writing blogs, articles and white papers.
 
Nicola regularly pops up on radio and TV around the world, including appearances on 'Woman's Hour', 'Tech Tent', 'The Genius of Invention' and 'Back in Time for the Weekend' for the BBC. She has done a TED talk about why people accept or reject technologies and is also a judge on a number of award panels, including the Institute of Customer Service, the CCMA and the Association of Business Psychology awards. In 2014, she was the recipient of the 'Outstanding Industry Contribution' award from the UK Contact Centre Forum.
 
When she's not doing all that, Nicola travels around the world presenting at conferences and running workshops with an assortment of BT's large multinational corporate clients including banks, government, travel companies and retailers, to name but a few.

Jamie Hindhaugh: Chief Operating Officer, BT Sport & BT TV

Jamie joined BT in October 2012 as Chief Operating Officer to build the infrastructure, broadcast chain and operating model for the launch of BT Sport.

In August 2013, BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and BT Sport ESPN all started broadcasting from the purpose built studio facility at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Since August 2015, the BT Sport offering has been expanded to 13 channel outlets to deliver the exclusive Champions League and Europa League coverage, as well as the launch of Europe’s first 4k UHD sports channel.

Jamie started his TV career as a transport coordinator at the BBC. Since then he has had many roles in the BBC including Head of Sourcing Production Resources and culminating as the Head of Production L2012 – responsible for the BBC’s multiplatform coverage of the Olympics, Paralympics and other key national events in 2012.

Dr. Tim Whitley: Managing Director, Research and Innovation, BT

Professor Timothy Whitley is a BT Distinguished Engineer and serves as MD Research and Innovation for BT and MD of BT’s R&D Campus ‘Adastral Park’ in Suffolk, England. He is accountable for all aspects of BT’s Global Research and Innovation activities, which includes applied research, technology scouting and partnerships with world leading universities.

From 2007 to 2011 he was BT Group Strategy Director. Tim holds a BSc in Physics, a PhD in Optical Fibre Systems, is a Policy Fellow with the Centre for Science & Policy, University of Cambridge, England and is a Board member for the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership. Tim is BT visiting Professor with the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex.

He is also the BT senior manager on the Equality of Access Board (EAB), the independent body established in 2006 to verify that BT is adhering to the regulatory undertakings established around the creation of Openreach.

In December 2016, Professor Whitley was appointed as a member of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) by the UK Government.

Steve Masters: Vice President, Customer Innovation & Solution Design, BT

Steve Masters is Vice President of Customer Innovation and Solution Design. Steve is responsible for driving innovation through the CTO and Architect community and has a team focused on thought leadership and interfacing to BT’s R&D functions.

Steve has more than 25 years’ experience in the IT and the telecommunications industry from the early days of networking in the late 80’s through to Web and Content services in the dot com period.

Steve is a regular speaker at conferences across the globe and recent engagements include presenting with the America’s Cup team, Ben Ainslie Racing at the New Scientist Live exhibition on Internet of Things, through to Cloud Summits in Belgium and Holland.

Prior to joining BT in March 2005, Steve worked for a leading consultancy and systems integrator. There, he managed the company’s mobile application and Microsoft practice and led sales activity targeted at the manufacturing and high technology sectors.

Vidhya Karthikeyan: Principal Research Scientist, BT

Vidhya’s research looks at how artificial intelligence can improve data network management. Her interest is in automating data insights that drive faster detection and diagnosis of faults in networks, and delivering services like TV with excellent quality of experience. She is also interested in the importance of data scientists in large corporates like BT.

She holds 25 patents or patent applications in autonomous network management, addressing the need for future networks to be intelligent, predictive and ready for the next generation of high-bandwidth applications. Vidhya was also awarded Young IT Professional of the Year in 2015 at the BCS UK IT Industry Awards and she won the CBI First Women Award (Engineering) in 2014 for achievements as a senior level business woman in the sector and inspiring women to enter the profession.
